Beware this post will have 20 books on here! I have a problem I constantly buy books…for a bargain at least!(:

  • First up, I bought The City Of Bones and the next three books in that series. I’ve always wanted to read them, a lot of people in the book community enjoy them so obviously, I’m missing out on something! I ordered these on Thriftbooks!
  • The Girls by Emma Cline

Here is the blurbNorthern California, during the violent end of the 1960s. At the start of summer, a lonely and thoughtful teenager, Evie Boyd, sees a group of girls in the park, and is immediately caught by their freedom, their careless dress, their dangerous aura of abandon. Soon, Evie is in thrall to Suzanne, a mesmerizing older girl, and is drawn into the circle of a soon-to-be infamous cult and the man who is its charismatic leader. Hidden in the hills, their sprawling ranch is eerie and run down, but to Evie, it is exotic, thrilling, charged—a place where she feels desperate to be accepted. As she spends more time away from her mother and the rhythms of her daily life, and as her obsession with Suzanne intensifies, Evie does not realize she is coming closer and closer to unthinkable violence, and to that moment in a girl’s life when everything can go horribly wrong.

I got this one because it is a coming of age story. And the blurb sold me, to be honest with you!

  • Daughter of Smoke & Bone by Laini Taylor
  • The Iron King by Julie Kagawa

The first book of a semi long series, I enjoy to hurt myself I guess!

  • Dark Witch (The Cousins O’Dwyer Trilogy) by Nora Roberts

I love reading witchy books so maybe I will enjoy this one. Picked this up at an antique store while I was on a book hunt there!

  • Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov

I really should have gotten this one sooner and read this. Haven’t even watched the film for this. But I’ve heard it’s twisted but brilliant writing so I picked it up.

  • Debutantes & Daggers by Rachel Hawkins

I mean its two books wrapped up neatly in one! It includes the first two Rebel Belle novels. Which I have considered reading so now I will soon. What more can I ask for(:

  • The String Diaries by Stephen Lloyd Jones

The Blurb:  A famil18774021y is hunted by a centuries-old monster: a man with a relentless obsession who can take on any identity.

The String Diaries opens with Hannah frantically driving through the night–her daughter asleep in the back, her husband bleeding out in the seat beside her. In the trunk of the car rests a cache of diaries dating back 200 years, tied and retied with strings through generations. The diaries carry the rules for survival that have been handed down from mother to daughter since the 19th century. But how can Hannah escape an enemy with the ability to look and sound like the people she loves?
Stephen Lloyd Jones’s debut novel is a sweeping thriller that extends from the present day, to Oxford in the 1970s, to Hungary at the turn of the 19th century, all tracing back to a man from an ancient royal family with a consuming passion–a boy who can change his shape, insert himself into the intimate lives of his victims, and destroy them.
If Hannah fails to end the chase now, her daughter is next in line. Only Hannah can decide how much she is willing to sacrifice to finally put a centuries-old curse to rest.

  • I got the first three books of Harry Potter. FINALLY! I’m so left out on everything in that fandom and need to join that magical world(:
  • The Transition Of H.P. Lovecraft: The Road to Madness by H.P. Lovecraft

I shouldn’t have to explain myself with this one I needed more horror so I went straight to the source. Planning on reading this during October for spooky shit.

  • The Elder Gods (The Dreamers,#1) by David Eddings

110693I picked this up at the antique store, I honestly didn’t even read the back or look up the author I just randomly picked it to go home to my bookshelf.

  • Thorn in My Heart (Lowlands of Scotland #1) by Liz Curtis Higgs 290252

  • A Vaudeville of Devils by Robert Girardi

737098The Blurb: From the acclaimed author of Madeleine’s Ghost and Vaporetto 13 comes a mesmerizing collection of seven novellas and stories that explore, through the lives of a variety of extraordinary and ordinary characters, our many moral quandaries.
Meet Hans Otto Graebner as he lingers in the beach resort of Ostend, on the North Sea. Soon this haggard SS officer will be dispatched to perform the menial but necessary task of locating and assassinating a degenerate Belgian painter.
Join “The Dinner Party,” where a man stands adrift in a distinctly Borgesian universe, somewhere at the end of time. It could be the Apocalypse or some ghoulish carnival. He’s attending a feast at an anonymous mansion while the fall of Babylon is acted out around him, and he struggles to hold on to the faint remnants of his conscience while the world goes up in flames.
Turn to a search for “The Primordial Face,” in which two expatriates, one of them mute, go diving for a mythological treasure at the bottom of the sea and wind up competing for the love of the obsessive expedition leader’s young daughter.
And spend “Sunday Evenings at Contessa Pasquali’s,” where a man and a woman torture each other with indifference and affection and find that love can be born of terrible schemes.
With this volume, Robert Girardi illustrates a world that is both beautifully alluring and brilliantly sinister, where souls are lost and won on the simple weight of everyday decisions. Rich with history and irony, vastly entertaining and told in the timeless style of tales, fables, and myths, these meditations on morality remind us of the eternal human condition.

  • Last but not least…

The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane by Katherine Howe
